Change in grace period and fine policies.
We’ve certainly seen an increase in usership over the last few months. Due to this our grace period has lead to inconvenient wait times for other patrons who are waiting on our materials. To help solve this issue for everyone we have suspended the two week grace period when materials are due to be returned. So REMEMBER, your materials are generally due two weeks after you have checked them out unless otherwise noted.
With the above change so too has our fine collection policy. Fines begin as soon as the book is overdue. Our fines are 5 cents per day that the item has not been returned.
To help with these changes we:
Will place a telephone call notifying you of the overdue material/s.
A second notice will be send by mail and a $2.50 cent fee will be placed onto your card in addition to the standard fines.
A third notice will be sent by mail and a $5.00 fee will be added to your card. The items will be marked as lost resulting in additional replacement costs being placed onto your card. At this point your card will be made inactive until the account is cleared.
PLEASE help us by returning and renewing your materials.
