Who can use this service?

This service is available for all users.

What kind of questions can I ask?

We will attempt to answer all of your questions. In order to answer your questions fully, you may be asked to email the librarian.  You can even IM for driving directions, school projects, book reservations etc.

Will I need to wait to chat with the librarian?

Patrons at the Reference Desk have priority over IM patrons. IM patrons are taken in a first-come-first-served order. Alternatively, you may always email a librarian or visit the Reference Desk for assistance.

How can I IM the librarian?

Users can use ncpublib2002 to IM the librarian through Yahoo! Messenger.

The library WILL NOT save the transcript of your chat session with the librarian.
